Teeth in a Day - Get Back Your Perfect Smile With All-on-Four Dental Implants

Teeth in a Day - Get Back Your Perfect Smile With All-on-Four Dental Implants

If you’ve lost your permanent teeth, you might assume dentures are your only restorative treatment option. Fortunately, that isn’t the case. All-on-4 dental implants provide stunning results while preserving your oral health.

At Gulf Coast Periodontics & Implants in Gulfport, Mississippi, Dr. Caesar Sweidan and Dr. Laura Smith use All-on-4 dental implants to transform smiles and reduce the risk of gum recession and bone loss. Here, we explain who a good candidate is and how the procedure works.

What are All-on-4 dental implants?

All-on-4 dental implants are small, titanium cylinders that support an implant-retained prosthesis.

Traditional dental implants require receiving one implant for each missing tooth. All-on-4 implants are different in that just four implants support an entire arch of artificial teeth.

During treatment, we insert four implants into your upper jaw and four into your lower jaw. The implants are immediately loaded, meaning they can be immediately used to hold a fixed 3D printed set of teeth, restoring your smile and function.

Am I a candidate for All-on-4 dental implants?

You may be a good candidate for All-on-4 dental implants if you’ve lost, or will lose, most or all of the teeth in either or both jaws, as long as the CT scan reveals adequate bone structure.

Tell us if you have heart disease, diabetes, or another underlying medical condition. These issues won’t necessarily prevent you from getting implants.

We might recommend an alternative procedure, like periodontal treatment or a bone grafting first, if you have a history of gum disease or not enough bone to support the implants.

What to expect during an All-on-4 dental implant procedure

Getting All-on-4 dental implants might takes a few hours, but you leave the office with a new, healthy smile. That’s why the procedure is often called “teeth in a day”.

First, we numb your mouth with an anesthetic and insert four implants in your upper jaw and four implants in your lower jaw.The implants provide an anchor for your implant-retained prosthesis.

Next, we take digital scans of your mouth and upload them to a software program that helps us design a set of custom, implant-retained prostheses. After finalizing the design, we use our 3D printer to print and customize your new teeth.

We attach them to the dental implants. The  prostheses restore your smile and biting and chewing abilities. Since All-on-4 dentures immediately anchor to your jaw, you can eat with them right away.

Caring for All-on-4 dental implants

Caring for All-on-4 dental implants is similar to caring for your permanent teeth. We recommend brushing twice daily, flossing regularly, using a WaterPik, and visiting Gulf Coast Periodontics & Implants every six months for an oral exam and preventive teeth cleaning.

Following these steps keeps your implants in optimal condition and supports your oral health.

Dental implants and teeth in a day can restore your smile and improve your oral health if you’ve lost most or all of your teeth. Contact Gulf Coast Periodontics & Implants in Gulfport, Mississippi, to schedule an All-on-4 dental implant consultation today!
